Obesity negatively impacts female fertility, yet the best approach for obese patients with infertility is still unclear. We strive to identify treatment options that will not just improve fertility, but also positively impact the overall health of the patient and her child.

Research in Brief
Dr. Menke is a reproductive endocrinologist whose research focuses on the effect of obesity and lipids on infertility. Through both animal models and human studies, Dr. Menke hopes to identify causes of reduced fecundity in the obese population as well as identify potential therapeutic targets for patients undergoing treatment for infertility.
Current Projects
Understanding the role of lipids and lipid metabolism in oocyte development and fertilization
Left: Overarching research goal. Right: Lipid oocyte.
